Lloyd McCray gives Savannah State a steady, veteran-style edge at linebacker
Lloyd McCray is a name worth tracking for Savannah State because the available team materials point to a linebacker profile that has value beyond box-score noise: physical, assignment-sound, and useful in the kind of defense that needs reliable tacklers and communicators. In the 2026 season, Savannah State’s defense has been under heavy stress early, which makes a dependable LB even more important; the main question is whether McCray can become a stabilizing presence and a tone-setter, especially if he brings the kind of intensity and consistency coaches trust on every down.
