Ethan Matsuoka brings pro-sized infield upside, but still needs game reps
Ethan Matsuoka is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound redshirt freshman infielder for Portland in the 2026 season, giving the Pilots a physically mature, right-handed bat with room to develop. In the 2025 season, he appeared in 16 games, started eight, hit .111 with three doubles in 36 at-bats, and flashed enough versatility to even log one pitching appearance. The appeal here is projection: size, infield value, and a late-blooming profile that can still sharpen with more at-bats. If you want an upside bet rather than an immediate stat-sheet producer, he fits the mold.
