Jacob Heppner is emerging as Utah Valley’s left-handed swingman with swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Utah Valley LHP Jacob Heppner has flashed real breakout stuff: he took a no-hitter into the fifth and struck out a career-high nine in a 5 2/3-inning gem on April 10, then had another strong start with 5 1/3 innings and just two hits allowed in 2025. He’s a 5-foot-11 redshirt junior lefty who competes hard, works deep enough to matter, and has shown the kind of pitchability and bat-missing feel that can play in a rotation. The fuller profile is still developing—his 2026 line shows some volatility—but the upside and toughness are absolutely worth a look.
