Avery Crooks brings tackling range and veteran presence to SLU’s linebacker room
Avery Crooks profiles as a steady, assignment-sound linebacker for Southeastern Louisiana, with the kind of experience coaches value in the middle of a defense. Public roster data confirms he is on the Lions’ 2025 football roster, and available stat-tracking shows a career interception, which hints at good zone awareness and ball skills for the position. Because current-season stats are not listed publicly, the clearest read is that Crooks’ appeal is his reliability, field IQ, and likely fit in a defense that wants a disciplined communicator rather than just a flash-play hunter.[1][2]
