Compact, versatile TE with upside in Samford’s offense
David Theado enters the 2026 season as a sophomore tight end for Samford at 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, bringing a versatile high-school profile from Tampa Catholic where he lined up at TE/WR/DE and posted 28 catches for 232 yards and 4 TDs as a senior. He’s the kind of multi-role athlete coaches love: physical enough to contribute in the run game, athletic enough to flex into receiving duties, and still early in his college development. He had limited game action as a freshman, so the appeal is upside and trajectory, not instant headline stats.
