reliable Kent State DB with special-teams value
John Schmidt is a 5-10, 201-pound defensive back who has been more of a dependable depth piece than a headline-grabber at Kent State, with prior game action on special teams and a modest college stat line that includes 4 solo tackles and 0 interceptions listed in available player records[1][2]. The appeal is the no-drama profile: he brings size, experience, and a willingness to contribute anywhere coaches need help, which makes him a practical fit if a team wants steady, assignment-sound depth rather than a splashy ball-hawk[1][3].
