Eddie Mailoto brings sturdy edge-setting and special-teams grit to SUU
Mailoto is a tough, underrated defensive end who has been valued at Southern Utah for his physical edge-setting, special-teams reliability, and willingness to do the dirty work. In the 2010 season, he appeared in all 11 games and logged 4 tackles plus a quarterback hurry, after posting 7 tackles in 9 games in 2009 and forcing a kickoff fumble at Utah State—proof he plays with effort and alertness in the hidden moments that coaches love. At 5-foot-11 and about 240 pounds, he profiles more as an active, high-motor role player than a flashy stat-padding pass rusher.
