Veteran guard with savvy, defense-first edge
Shakeeta Cotton’s profile is that of a steady, experienced guard who brings perimeter defense, ball pressure, and enough playmaking to fit as a glue piece. In the 2010-11 season, she averaged 2.5 points, 1.1 assists, and 1.0 steals in 23 games, and earlier at Kankakee she showed more scoring punch, posting 13.0 points per game as a sophomore. The big differentiators are toughness, basketball IQ, and willingness to do the unglamorous stuff; the main caveat is that her impact has historically been more complementary than high-usage.
