MTSU's Explosive WR Star of the Early 2000s
Kendall Newson dominated as Middle Tennessee's standout wide receiver from 1999-2001, posting three straight 900+ yard seasons with 208 career receptions, 2,659 yards, and 17 TDs—peaking at 74 catches for 945 yards and 5 scores in 2000. His smooth route-running, reliable hands, and big-play ability (multiple 30+ yard TD grabs) made him a seventh-round Jaguars pick in 2002, though a brief NFL stint followed. A gritty competitor with no major injury flags, Newson's college tape screams 'sleeper pro talent'—perfect fit for teams needing a savvy, possession WR with deep-threat upside.
