Albany DB Turned Rams Speedster with Elite Punt-Return Flair
Xavier Smith, formerly of FAMU where he earned 2022 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-American honors as a dynamic WR, has transitioned to DB for Albany Great Danes while showcasing NFL-caliber speed on special teams—highlighted by a 31-yard punt return and 48-yard catch in Rams action. In 2025, he posted 18 rec for 303 yds (16.8 avg), proving elusive and versatile. His 5'9", 174-lb frame brings explosive playmaking and special teams intensity, making him a perfect fit for teams needing a high-motor DB with return prowess and no major injury flags.
