Physical Paint Defender with Elite Rim Protection Potential
Kelvin Gaines is a versatile F/C who brings defensive intensity and shot-blocking prowess to the paint. During his prep year at Heat Academy (2008-09), he averaged 10.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and an impressive 6.2 blocks per game—showcasing elite rim protection instincts. A physical, hard-nosed defender, Gaines thrives in the trenches and excels at protecting the basket. His combination of size, athleticism, and defensive commitment makes him an ideal fit for programs prioritizing interior defense and rebounding. Best suited for coaches who value grit and paint presence over offensive polish.
