Clemson Walk-On Kicker Christian Groomes: Rare Field Goal Flair in Limited Action
Christian Groomes, a Clemson Tigers walk-on kicker from the class of 2014, etched his name with a clutch 38-yard field goal in a 2017 rout of The Citadel (61+ points) and perfect 100% FG/XP accuracy on limited tries (long 38 yards, 6 career points per ESPN stats through 2017-18), showcasing poise under pressure as an original walk-on who appeared in just three games. His grit, family ties (brother Carter also a Clemson walk-on), and high school pedigree at Daniel HS make him a low-risk, high-reward specialist—ideal for teams needing reliable depth without draft hype.
