Sam Smithson brings size and bench-grit to Western Carolina's frontcourt
In his 2011-12 senior season at Western Carolina, Sam Smithson was a 6'9", 225-pound center who played in 17 games off the bench and totaled 26 points and 27 rebounds, suggesting a low-usage but physical interior role[3][1]. His main differentiator is straightforward: he gives the Catamounts size, bodying ability, and situational depth in the paint rather than headline scoring[3]. If your team needs a steady, experienced big who can absorb contact, defend the lane, and do the dirty work without demanding touches, Smithson fits that profile[3].
