Nicholls lefty Shaydon Benson brings strikeout stuff, but command is the separator
Shaydon Benson is a junior left-handed pitcher for Nicholls who has flashed swing-and-miss ability in 2026, but his current results show that strike-throwing consistency is the key swing skill: he had 6 strikeouts in 5.2 innings with 6 walks in early March, and his season ERA has sat in the double digits across public stat trackers. His biggest differentiator is his left-handed profile and bat-missing ceiling; the fit is best for a staff that can help sharpen command and turn raw stuff into more efficient outings.
