Elite Inside LB with 34-Game Starter Grit for Central Arkansas Bears
Zach Watkins isn’t just a stat sheet linebacker—he’s a 34-game inside starter (2009–10) at Washburn, crowned 2009 MIAA Defensive Player of the Year and AFCA All-American, now bringing that same relentless intensity to Central Arkansas Bears as LB. His differentiator? Unmatched durability (no major injury history), a 3-year starter mindset, and a personality that turns every tackle into a statement. While his 2013 UCA reserve stint showed only 3 tackles in 7 games, his core identity is built on 2009 dominance: 10+ tackles per game, elite coverage, and a leader’s fire. You should care because he’s a proven fit for teams needing a high-intensity, injury-proof LB who elevates the entire defense. Is he a good fit? Absolutely—if you value grit over flash, he’s your anchor.
