Boynton gives Valpo a veteran arm with bounce-back upside
Spencer Boynton is a redshirt senior RHP for Valparaiso who brings size, starter experience, and a real battler’s profile to the Beacons’ rotation. In 2025, he made 13 appearances, all as part of the weekend starting rotation, and struck out 32 batters; he also flashed his ceiling with a five-inning, three-hit shutout performance late in the season. His path matters: he missed the 2024 campaign because of injury, so the big question is durability, but when he’s right he looks like a dependable strike-thrower with bounce-back resilience and proven conference-level experience.
