Hosana Kitenge brings old-school size, efficient scoring, and boards to UCSB
Kitenge is a physical 6-foot-8 forward who has shown real two-way value: in the 2023-24 season at Louisiana, he averaged 11.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 56.4% from the field, and he was a Sun Belt All-Third Team selection.[3][7] What separates him is his interior scoring touch, rebound production, and willingness to battle through contact—traits that showed up in big moments, including a gritty 12-point, six-rebound effort with floor burns and a technical in UCSB’s win over UC Irvine.[4] The main caution is availability: he missed the 2024-25 season with a season-ending preseason injury, so the question is less talent than health and return-to-form.[3][14]
