Ahmad is a work-in-progress linebacker with real upside: Kentucky says he was a strong spring performer, finished the spring as the No. 3 inside linebacker, and looked quicker and stronger after added strength-and-conditioning work. At the high school level, he produced 133 tackles and four sacks as a senior, which signals a downhill, physical style. He has also already seen game action, so the Wildcats are betting on a player who blends effort, toughness, and improving athleticism rather than just raw stats.
