Caitlin Benningfield brings swing-and-miss upside and two-way value for New Mexico
Benningfield has already shown she can impact games in multiple ways for New Mexico, earning Mountain West Freshman of the Week after helping the Lobos sweep Boise State with a 0.78 ERA and 12 strikeouts over nine innings in the 2026 season.[1] She profiles as a useful UTIL because she can contribute in the circle and at the plate, with the kind of competitive edge that shows up in big moments rather than just box scores.[1] If your team wants a versatile freshman with real run-prevention potential and room to grow offensively, she is a strong fit.[1]
