Sam Houston DB Darrel Hawkins-Williams brings veteran tackling juice and steady special-teams value
Darrel Hawkins-Williams has the look of a dependable, physical defensive back for Sam Houston, with past seasons showing consistent tackle production and a knack for showing up in the run game. In the 2022 season, he finished with 25 tackles, and earlier at Sam Houston he logged 18 tackles in 2020-21, which points to a player who works, hits, and helps stabilize the back end. He’s not flashy, but he reads like a gritty, assignment-sound fit for a team that values toughness, depth, and grown-man football.
