SDSU’s late-inning strike-thrower with real bullpen bite
In the 2026 season, San Diego State right-hander Aidan Russell emerged as a high-leverage bullpen weapon, earning Mountain West Pitcher of the Week honors twice and a spot on the CBF National Pitcher of the Year watch list. He attacked hitters with a compact, efficient relief profile: through mid-March he led the MW with a 0.63 ERA, had 20 strikeouts against just two walks in 14.1 innings, and repeatedly slammed the door in big moments, including against No. 1 UCLA. If your team wants a fearless, low-walk competitor who can change a game in the final innings, Russell is a fit.
