Productive veteran LB with proven tackling upside at Western Illinois
Theon Dixon emerged as an immediate defensive contributor for Western Illinois after transferring, and his résumé shows a reliable, active linebacker with a nose for the ball. In the 2012 season, he played in 10 games with six starts and finished tied for fourth on the team with 55 tackles, while his career line at Western Illinois lists 134 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and 3 interceptions. Earlier reports also show him making an immediate impact in 2011 with a team-high nine stops in one game and back-to-back disruptive outings. He looks like a smart fit for teams needing toughness, instinct, and steady production.
