Jalen Wells brings length, DB versatility, and ready-made toughness to Lamar
In the 2026 season, Jalen Wells profiles as a dependable Lamar defensive back with the kind of frame-and-physicality combo coaches love: he was listed at 6-0, 206 pounds in Lamar’s roster history and earned second-team All-District 21-6A honors coming out of Beaumont United[2][3]. Recruiting outlets identified him as a defensive back/CB prospect headed to Lamar, which hints at multi-role coverage value rather than a one-trick specialist[4]. The quick-read reason to care: he looks like a tough, assignment-sound DB who can fit into a physical secondary and bring athletic upside from his high-school days[1][2].
