Wake Forest DB John Peterson III is a depth piece with upside and a resilient backstory
In the 2023 season, John Peterson III logged just one game for Wake Forest and recorded one assisted tackle, so he’s still more projection than production on the stat sheet[1][5]. What makes him interesting is the profile behind the numbers: Wake Forest lists him at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, and his path includes missing his junior year of high school with injury, then battling back to play and earn a college role[4]. That kind of resilience matters for a DB room, and he looks like a competitive, under-the-radar fit if a team wants toughness, versatility, and development upside rather than instant headlines[4][9].
