Elite Scoring Guard with Midrange Mastery and Defensive Intensity
Charles Manning Jr. is a 6'5" senior guard for South Alabama Jaguars who differentiates himself as a high-intensity scorer averaging 15.4 PPG (131st of 2,873 Guards) with reliable midrange shooting, despite limited deep range. His differentiators include exceptional defensive versatility (1.3 SPG, 0.5 BPG) and a 'three-position perimeter' length that allows him to guard multiple roles, highlighted by a standout 6-block game against Tarleton State. While he returned to play late in the 2026-27 season after an injury (playing only 6 contests), his intensity level remains elite, evidenced by 10+ points in seven consecutive games and Sun Belt Second-Team honors. You should care because he offers a rare blend of scoring punch and defensive grit with a 'solid athlete' profile; he is a strong fit for teams needing a versatile, midrange-reliable guard who can lead in scoring and provide perimeter defense, provided they can manage his recent injury recovery timeline.
