Iona G Monica Barefield brings quickness, scoring punch, and backcourt control
Monica Barefield is a guard for Iona who is producing 6.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game with 32.4% shooting, signaling a steady rotation piece rather than a high-volume engine this season.[2][3] Her appeal is less about raw box-score dominance and more about pace, toughness, and the ability to handle lead-guard duties; prior coverage describes her as a fast, athletic point guard who can control the flow of the game and score in bunches, which matters for teams needing tempo and edge in the backcourt.[4] If you want a guard who can bring energy and organize possessions, she is a credible fit.[2][4]
