Steady FIU linebacker with veteran instincts
Josh Powell brings reliability and experience to FIU’s linebacker room, with a career arc that shows he can be counted on for tackles, assignment discipline, and timely run support. In the 2020 season, he logged 23 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in five games, ranking sixth on the team in tackles and second among linebackers, and his best outing came with a career-high nine tackles against Jacksonville State. He’s not a flashy stat-stuffer, but he looks like a low-drama, high-trust defender who fits best in a scheme that values consistency, effort, and clean reads.
