Sam DeSa brings reliable hands, and a little California nostalgia
In the 2026 season, Sam DeSa is listed as a California Golden Bears wide receiver, but the available stat line shows he has 7 career catches for 96 yards with no touchdowns, so the upside is more about context than box-score volume[2][3]. His differentiators are route reliability, pedigree, and toughness: he was a decorated high school receiver at Monte Vista, and Cal’s notes say a hamstring issue briefly slowed his college role, which helps explain the limited production[3][8]. For a team, he reads as a depth piece with dependable hands and system fit rather than a headline-grabbing playmaker[3][8].
