Ball State lefty Zach Kwasny brings size, strikeouts, and portal intrigue
Zach Kwasny is a 6'5" right-handed pitcher with a power frame and real bat-missing ability, posting 34 strikeouts in 29.1 innings as a freshman in 2024 for Ball State and appearing on the 2026 roster as a junior. His results have been uneven — his 2024 ERA was 5.93 across 41.0 innings in later stat summaries — but the upside is obvious: he attacks hitters, can work in bulk, and has already shown he can handle meaningful innings. He also announced he is entering the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining, making him a watchlist arm for staffs chasing upside and developmental value.
