Karisa Lopez gives Texas A&M–Corpus Christi a clutch, contact-first spark at shortstop
Karisa Lopez is a right-handed hitting shortstop whose value shows up in timely contact, not just flash; as a 2024 freshman, she appeared in 30 games with 16 starts, and in 2025 she delivered a walk-off hit to help the Islanders salvage a series, showing she can handle pressure moments. [5][9] She also contributed RBI production in 2026 conference play, suggesting she fits as an energetic middle-infield option with competitive at-bats and situational value. [1][6]
