Illinois LB Ty Myers: veteran instincts, steady production, and pass-defense upside
Ty Myers is a proven Illinois linebacker with starter-level experience and a reputation for being reliable in coverage and disruptive behind the line, but the clearest public profile data available is older, so his current 2026 form can’t be verified here. In the 2002 Illinois prospectus, Myers had already shown range, pass-defense ability, and playmaking with tackles for loss, a sack, pass breakups, and interceptions—traits that usually translate well to modern linebacker play. If you want a smart, instinctive, coverage-capable linebacker, he fits the mold.
