Shakir Dawan offers North Carolina Central backcourt depth, but minutes have been limited
Dawan is a North Carolina Central guard whose current profile is that of a low-usage, depth-piece contributor rather than a featured scorer; ESPN lists him at 1.2 points, 0.0 rebounds and 0.2 assists in his available season stat line, while NCCU’s roster bio notes he made three appearances as a sophomore and scored three points in seven total minutes in 2022-23. [4][3] For a team, that means he is more of a developmental guard than an immediate impact piece: the upside is guard depth and roster flexibility, but the evidence so far points to a player still fighting for a larger role.
