Thai Cottrell brought special-teams juice and sneaky big-play ability for SJSU
In the 2018 season, Thai Cottrell was more than a depth WR for San Jose State — he was an honorable-mention All-Mountain West return specialist, ranking 12th nationally in combined return yardage and averaging 25.8 yards per kickoff return while handling punt-return duties with sure hands and burst[6]. His profile screams versatility: reliable in traffic, dangerous in space, and the kind of player who can flip field position in a heartbeat, with a career-long 60-yard catch showing he can hit the gas when the lane opens[8]. If you need instant special-teams impact and a competitor who was trusted in high-leverage reps, Cottrell is your guy[1][6].
