Mason Patel is Georgia Tech’s shutdown relief ace with elite poise and strike-throwing consistency
In the 2025 season, Mason Patel turned into one of Georgia Tech’s most dominant bullpen weapons, posting a 3.34 ERA over 70.0 innings with an 11-2 record and five saves, and he was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year watch list in 2026 after returning from an early-season injury and immediately locking things down again. His value goes beyond the line: he’s a high-leverage reliever who works deep into games, can win in multiple roles, and has the kind of competitive edge coaches trust when the game gets spicy.
