Reliable, Smart Cal Safety With Pro-Level Grit
Stefan McClure was a rangy, physical safety for California who stood out more for his instincts, toughness, and football IQ than flashy stat lines—he earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors after a six-tackle, high-impact showing against Washington State, and later earned an NFL opportunity as an undrafted free agent with Indianapolis in 2016. If you value a defender who plays with urgency, processes quickly, and brings a professional mindset, McClure’s profile suggests a dependable fit rather than a highlight-reel gambler.
