Winthrop’s Veteran Guard with Elite Video Coordination Skills and Steady Senior Presence
Matt Erps, a senior guard for the Winthrop Eagles, brings more than just on-court stats—he’s the team’s Assistant Coach for Video Coordination, giving him a unique, data-driven differentiator that sharpens his basketball IQ and leadership. Though his 2025–26 playing stats are modest (0.5 PPG, 0.3 AST, 50% FG), his intensity, film-savvy mindset, and steady senior presence make him a high-fit for teams valuing tactical awareness and mentorship. With no reported injury history and a reputation for reliability, Erps excels in roles requiring preparation, adaptability, and quiet intensity—perfect for a team building around process over flash.
