Cal's Steady Rock at Tackle with NFL Bloodlines
Derek Deutsch, a 6'6", 305-lb offensive lineman for the California Golden Bears, stands out as a gritty, high-motor protector with NFL pedigree—son of ex-NFL OL Derek Anderson—bringing veteran savvy and relentless drive to Cal's line. In the 2025 season, he anchored the right tackle spot amid injuries, allowing just 1.2 sacks per game (per PFF data) while excelling in run blocking with top-20 Pac-12 pancake percentages. His differentiator? Blue-collar intensity and leadership that rallies the unit, making him a plug-and-play fit for pro-style offenses seeking durable, coachable talent—no major injury flags, pure upside.
