Cal’s stout, blue-collar nose guard with a coach-trust profile
Gunnar Rask is a 6-2, 305-pound nose guard for Cal who has built his value on sturdy interior play, practice reliability, and a team-first grind that shows up more in disruption than box-score fireworks. In his Cal career, his notable game highs include 3 tackles at Arizona in 2021 and a quarterback hurry versus UNLV in 2022, and he also earned Cal academic recognition in 2022. The fit is clear: if a defense wants a space-eating, physical interior presence with brains and maturity, Rask checks a lot of boxes.
