Lawon Benford brings local-Colorado depth to Northern Colorado’s DB room
Lawon Benford is a Northern Colorado defensive back who profiles as a developmental, local-recruit depth piece rather than a proven stat-stuffer, which means the appeal is more about upside, coachability, and roster fit than headline production. Publicly available roster data confirms him on UNC’s football roster as a freshman DB from Denver, but there is not enough reliable public performance data yet to evaluate his current on-field impact, rankings, or advanced strengths. For a team, that makes him a watchlist player: worth tracking for athletic growth, special-teams value, and how quickly he adapts to the college game.
