Rakeem Johnson is the Spartans’ versatile line piece with starter upside
In the 2025 season, Rakeem Johnson played in 12 games and made four straight starts at right guard to finish the year, logging 271 offensive snaps and 118 on special teams for Michigan State. He’s a 6-foot-4, 296-pound redshirt sophomore who brings rare positional flexibility—he has game experience at tackle and guard, and analysts say he could even handle center reps. That versatility, plus his growing experience, makes him a strong developmental fit for teams wanting a tough, adaptable interior lineman with multi-position value.
