Jake Minster brings seasoned linebacker size and JUCO-tested grit to Western Michigan
Jake Minster, a 6'1"-6'2", 230-235-pound inside linebacker from Woodland Hills, California, came to Western Michigan after playing at Pierce College and arriving as a 2012 signee, giving him the classic two-level defender profile: compact build, downhill physicality, and experience in the middle of the defense. Public recruiting profiles from ESPN and 247Sports list him as an inside linebacker and rank him among notable junior-college prospects, suggesting a player valued more for instincts, toughness, and field-stabilizing presence than flashy measurables. If your team needs a blue-collar tone-setter who fits run support and contact-heavy football, he’s the kind of linebacker worth your attention.
