Ryan Olson brings strike-throwing upside and a proven run-prevention track record to UAB
Olson profiles as a polished right-hander whose biggest selling point is control: UAB says he went 6-0 with a 1.00 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 64.2 innings over two summers on the Perfect Game circuit, which points to a pitcher who can miss bats while limiting damage. He also has prior college success, including a standout Cal Poly Pomona season with a 1.73 ERA, 12 wins, and 92 strikeouts in 88.2 innings, suggesting a durable, attack-minded starter candidate. The key question for UAB is whether his stuff translates consistently against higher-level lineups.[3][5]
