Tennessee Tech’s all-conference guard who set the tone in the trenches
Burt Shurette was a standout Tennessee Tech offensive guard, earning 2003 All-OVC first-team honors, which signals a blocker trusted to anchor protection and create lanes at a high level[1][2]. The clearest takeaway is reliability: guards who make all-conference teams usually win with leverage, technique, and consistency rather than flash, making Shurette the kind of interior lineman who helps an offense look organized and physical[1][2].
