Cole Lockwood brings physical, no-nonsense Montana toughness to the back end
Lockwood is listed by Montana as a defensive back/safety, but his appeal is the kind that shows up in film more than box scores: he profiles as a hard-nosed, versatile defender with Griz-level physicality and a linebacker-like mentality in run support. Because publicly available current production data is limited, the clearest differentiator is his fit for a defense that values toughness, contact willingness, and reliable alignment over flash; that makes him a useful depth-and-role player if you want a safety who can play downhill and compete with intensity.
