Pierre Wooten is a Winthrop standard-bearer: steady, efficient, and championship-tested
Pierre Wooten is a program legend for Winthrop, with 1,019 career points, 375 assists, and a reputation as a composed floor general who helped power four Big South titles and earned Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors in the 2002-03 season. His calling card was control—smart decision-making, free-throw consistency, and point-guard poise—more than flashy volume scoring, which is exactly why coaches love guards who make a team run cleaner when the pressure spikes.
