Brandon Kosel has emerged as Utah Tech’s go-to righty with frontline stuff
In the 2026 season, Brandon Kosel gave Utah Tech a reliable anchor on the mound, working as the Trailblazers’ top starting pitcher with a 4.57 ERA, 38 strikeouts, and a reputation for attacking hitters early in counts. He also posted a 1.88 ERA in conference play early in the year and was described by opponents as one of the WAC’s best starters, which tells you the stuff plays beyond the box score. Add in his prior junior-college track record and second-team all-conference honor, and you get a competitive, strike-throwing right-hander who looks like a real fit for a rotation-needy staff.
