Hawaii’s bruising RB with downhill pop and Polynesian pride
Bryant-Lelei is a compact, physical back for Hawai‘i who was described by the program as “built for bruising” and a player who could handle a workhorse role; he also changed his last name to honor his Polynesian family connections. In the 2022 season, he logged 56 rushing yards on 10 carries with 3 touchdowns, and in the 2023 season he had 26 carries for 93 yards with a 4.0 yards-per-carry average. The fit is obvious: if a team wants a tough, inside-leaning runner with attitude, contact balance, and cultural edge, he’s a sneaky-good fit.
