Experienced, captain-level defender with real playmaking pedigree
Josh Newton built his reputation as a high-IQ, battle-tested defensive back with starting experience at both Louisiana-Monroe and TCU, where he became a 2023 team captain and consistently produced pass breakups and interceptions. In the 2023 season, he posted 33 total tackles, 7 pass breakups, and 1 interception, showing the kind of competitive, assignment-sound presence coaches trust on the back end. He’s a fit for teams that value maturity, versatility, and intensity over flash—think dependable chain-mover, not highlight merchant.
