VMI’s Joey Gibson brings polished passing and proven production
Joey Gibson’s profile reads like a steady, efficient quarterback who has already shown he can drive VMI’s offense with real game-changing volume: in the 2002 season, he led VMI past Davidson with 242 passing yards, three passing scores, and a rushing touchdown, and later finished his career as VMI’s then all-time passing leader with 5,607 yards and 38 touchdown passes. His differentiator is balance—he can hurt defenses through the air and keep plays alive with his legs. For a team that wants a poised, experienced distributor who has already delivered against solid competition, Gibson looks like a smart fit.
