Jayden Lopez is Jackson State’s swing-and-miss lefty who can bully lineups when he’s on
Lopez, a senior lefthanded pitcher for Jackson State in the 2026 season, has shown real bat-missing upside: he struck out 15 in a complete-game win over Alcorn State and later punched out 10 over six innings against Alabama State, then turned in 6.1 innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts in May. His calling card is power-and-finish stuff, but the profile also shows some volatility—earlier starts included pitch-count pressure and a few rough outings. If a staff wants a competitive lefty who can dominate when his command is sharp, he’s intriguing; if it wants polish and consistency, there’s still some work to do.
